A boating accident at Grand Anse Beach in Grenada has left two people dead.

The incident occurred Saturday at the popular beach on the island’s southwest coast. The Royal Grenada Police Force confirmed the deaths in a brief statement.

However, further details surrounding the incident have emerged through alleged eyewitness accounts.

According to those accounts, two women reportedly jumped together from a boat. They allegedly came into contact with the vessel’s propeller.

One of the women reportedly died at the scene. Meanwhile, the second woman was taken to hospital for treatment.

She later succumbed to her injuries.

Purported videos and images from the aftermath have also circulated on social media. The material reportedly shows swimmers assisting one of the injured beachgoers.

The woman appeared to have suffered severe lacerations across her body.

The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation by Grenada police.
