The general election is set for April 30. Therefore, candidates are outlining early policy priorities.

Housing and land access focus

Freeland placed land and housing at the top of his agenda. He said residents, especially young people, want more ownership opportunities. In addition, he pointed to strong demand for land.

He said many young residents want a clear path to home ownership. Therefore, he plans to expand land access opportunities early in office.

Job creation and youth employment

Freeland also focused on employment. He said job creation remains a key concern. Moreover, he wants better links between people and work opportunities.

He linked jobs directly to housing access. As a result, he said income can support land and home ownership.

He also proposed job fairs and matching programs. These initiatives aim to place residents quickly into work. In addition, he wants to measure early employment results within 100 days.

Infrastructure works continue

Freeland’s third priority is infrastructure. He highlighted ongoing road and drainage works in St. George. However, he said residents still raise concerns about them.

He promised to continue those projects. Therefore, he wants to show steady progress after the election.

He said continued work will build public trust. In addition, he stressed consistency in delivery. As a result, he believes residents will see progress clearly.

Political context and constituency focus

Freeland acknowledged voter concerns about timing. Some residents link projects to election periods. However, he said early post-election action will prove commitment.

He said leadership must show results quickly. Therefore, he emphasized delivery in the first 100 days.

St. George remains a closely watched constituency. Both major parties are promoting plans for jobs, housing, and infrastructure.
