30-YEAR-OLD MAN CHARGED IN CONNECTION WITH BREAK-IN AT SUNNY LIMITED
St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, Sunday, September 13, 2026
The police have arrested and charged 30-year-old Marcus Gilpin of Old Parham Road in connection with a break-in at Sunny Limited on Long Street.
Gilpin is accused of breaking into the business sometime between August 10 and 11, 2026, and stealing a substantial quantity of merchandise and other property.
Among the items reportedly stolen were twenty five (25) pairs of Sneakers, Fifty (50) pieces of assorted clothing, Five (5) suitcases, Forty (40) speakers, Fifty (50) school bags, Thirty-six (36) pairs of socks, Twenty-five (25) pairs of short jeans, Fifty (50) pairs of long jeans pants, Thirty (30) pairs of adult slippers, Fifteen (15) pairs of children slippers, Ten (10) travelling bags, Twenty (20) Solar lights, Boxers, radios, a washing machine, refrigerator, card machine, children’s personal-care products, and two DVR systems.
Gilpin is also accused of maliciously damaging the business’ camera system, valued at approximately EC$50,000.
The stolen and damaged property amounted to combined value of approximately EC$103,201.
He has since been formally arrested and charged with Breaking and Larceny and Malicious Damage and is expected to appear before the court to answer to the charges on Monday, September 14.
The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda continues to encourage business owners and members of the public to report suspicious activities and provide any information that may assist with ongoing criminal investigations.
