Turner Launches Lightfoot Cleanup Drive
Turner has launched a new bulk waste cleanup campaign in Lightfoot as part of a wider beautification effort in St Peter.
Moreover, St Peter MP Rawdon Turner said the project aims to create cleaner and safer communities across the constituency. He shared the update in a statement released this weekend.
Turner explained that the initiative marks the first phase of a larger cleanup programme. In addition, he said the effort will expand to other communities in St Peter in the coming weeks.
“This initiative is only the beginning,” Turner said.
He also noted that the campaign seeks to improve the environment and raise the quality of life for residents. At the same time, he encouraged people in the constituency to support the project and help maintain cleaner surroundings.
Meanwhile, the cleanup exercise will focus on removing bulky waste and unwanted debris from residential areas. The effort forms part of broader community enhancement plans across St Peter.
Residents are also expected to benefit from cleaner public spaces as the initiative moves forward. Furthermore, Turner stressed the importance of community involvement in keeping neighborhoods tidy and safe.
The MP said the programme reflects an ongoing commitment to improving living conditions throughout the constituency. As a result, the campaign will continue in phases across additional communities.
Turner added that beautification and environmental care remain important priorities for the area. He also encouraged residents to work together to protect and improve their communities.
Additionally, the initiative aims to create a more welcoming environment for families and residents. Community participation, he said, will play a key role in the project’s success.
The cleanup campaign comes as efforts continue across Antigua and Barbuda to improve public spaces and residential communities. Turner said the work in Lightfoot is only the start of a wider push to enhance the constituency.
