Three suspects are now in police custody as investigators continue probing alleged fraudulent transactions at a local bank in Antigua and Barbuda.

Police confirmed the arrests following several reports made to the Criminal Investigations Department between May 12 and May 18, 2026. Moreover, officials said the reports involved irregular and unauthorized transactions at different branches of the bank.

According to investigators, officers launched inquiries after the suspicious transactions were discovered. As a result, police carried out visits to several locations connected to the case.

During those operations, officers gathered information linked to the ongoing investigation. Consequently, police arrested three individuals on suspicion of fraud.

Authorities have not yet released the identities of the suspects. In addition, police have not disclosed the total value of the alleged transactions under investigation.

Officials also confirmed that the suspects remain in custody while investigations continue. Meanwhile, detectives are working to determine how the transactions were carried out and whether additional people may have been involved.

The Criminal Investigations Department continues to examine information gathered from the bank and other sources. Furthermore, investigators are expected to conduct additional interviews as the probe moves forward.

Police have not yet announced any formal charges. However, officials said inquiries remain active and ongoing.

The alleged incidents reportedly occurred across separate branches of the bank over several days. Therefore, investigators are treating the matter as a serious financial crime investigation.

Authorities have also urged members of the public to remain cautious when conducting financial transactions. At the same time, officials continue working with the affected institution as part of the investigation.

The case remains under active review by the Criminal Investigations Department.
