Machete-wielding men allegedly robbed a private home on Upper Fort Road before dawn on May 5.

According to reports, two masked men entered the residence along Penny Lane. Both intruders were reportedly armed during the incident.

Investigators believe the men gained entry through an eastern-facing window. Although the window was closed, it remained unlocked.

In addition, the mosquito screen had been forcibly removed. As a result, the suspects allegedly entered the house without alerting the occupants.

A male resident was awakened during the break-in. One of the intruders then forced him to hand over a shoulder bag.

However, a struggle later broke out inside the home. Despite this, the suspect escaped with the bag and its contents.

Meanwhile, the second intruder reportedly entered another bedroom. There, he allegedly grabbed a mobile phone from a female occupant.

According to sources, the suspect also demanded more cash from the woman. The incident left both occupants shaken.

Afterward, the two men reportedly fled through a southern door. Authorities say both suspects escaped before police arrived.

Several items were reportedly stolen during the robbery. These included EC$850 and US$200 in cash.

In addition, the suspects allegedly took government-issued identification cards. A vehicle key and a mobile phone were also stolen.

The mobile phone reportedly carries a value of about US$800. Therefore, the total losses remain significant.

Meanwhile, police have launched an investigation into the incident. However, no arrests have been made so far.

Authorities continue to gather information about the robbery. They are also working to identify the suspects involved.

Residents in the area remain concerned following the incident. At the same time, investigations are ongoing.
