Nighttime Detour Starts Tonight on All Saints Road
Nighttime detour measures will take effect tonight along a section of All Saints Road as major infrastructure work begins.
The Ministry of Works announced that crews will work between FADI Building Supplies and Fresh and Eazy Supermarket.
The temporary traffic changes will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, 11th May 2026. The detour will remain in place until 7:00 a.m. Tuesday.
Meanwhile, officials urged motorists to prepare for delays and use caution while traveling through the area.
Drivers leaving St. John’s must turn left at Hazelroy’s on All Saints Road. They should then follow the marked detour route.
At the same time, motorists heading into town must turn right at Fresh and Eazy Supermarket. They should also follow the posted route signs.
Additionally, officials said some sections of the detour will operate as one-way traffic zones. Signs placed along the route will guide drivers in both directions.
Flag persons will also remain on site throughout the night. They will help direct traffic and keep vehicles moving safely.
Furthermore, the Ministry confirmed that residents near the work zone will still receive local access during the project.
Heavy-duty equipment will operate close to the roadway during construction. Therefore, officials are asking drivers to follow instructions carefully.
Motorists should also reduce speed and stay alert while traveling through the area.
Despite the road work, all businesses in the area will remain open tonight.
The infrastructure upgrade forms part of the larger All Saints Road Project now underway across Antigua and Barbuda.
Officials said the project aims to improve road conditions and strengthen transportation access along the busy corridor.
Stakeholders and commuters are encouraged to adjust travel plans ahead of time. As a result, drivers may avoid long delays and heavy traffic overnight.
Meanwhile, the Ministry thanked the public for its patience and cooperation during the construction period.
