Several Arrested After Police Seize Firearms in Early Morning Operations
Several arrests followed early morning police operations across Antigua and Barbuda.
First, police carried out coordinated raids in multiple locations. They aimed to target illegal firearms and ammunition.
During the first operation, officers found a modified flare gun. They also discovered several rounds of ammunition. In addition, they seized a camouflage shirt.
As a result, police arrested two individuals. They now face suspicion of unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition. Officers placed both in custody.
Meanwhile, another team conducted a separate search at Collins Road. Units involved included the Gang and Guns Suppression Unit (GAGSU), the Special Services Unit (SSU), and the CID Task Force.
At that location, officers searched a farm property. They detained two foreign nationals during the operation.
Subsequently, police transported both individuals to the St. John’s Police Station. There, they assist with ongoing investigations. Authorities also examine possible immigration-related issues.
In a third operation, officers searched another property in Collins. During the search, they recovered one firearm. They also found two matching magazines and three rounds of ammunition.
After the discovery, police arrested one individual. He faces suspicion of unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.
Moreover, officers confirmed that all items were seized as evidence. Investigators continue to analyze the findings.
