Antigua and Barbuda is set for strong cruise tourism growth. Moreover, this follows key meetings at a global industry summit.

The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority led the delegation. In addition, CEO Colin C. James headed the team.

They attended Seatrade Cruise Global 2026. The event ran from April 13 to 16 in Miami Beach.

High-Level Cruise Line Meetings

During the summit, officials held 16 major meetings. These included talks with top cruise operators.

For example, they met Carnival Cruise Lines and Royal Caribbean Group. They also engaged MSC Group and Disney Cruise Line.

As a result, several gains have already emerged. Cruise activity to the destination is set to increase.

Rising Cruise Calls and Projections

MSC Group confirmed 12 calls for 2026. Moreover, it expects 41 calls in 2027.

This also includes visits from Explora Journeys. In addition, MSC World Europa will make a maiden revenue call.

That visit is scheduled for December 7, 2026. It will bring about 5,250 passengers.

Meanwhile, Royal Caribbean Group projects 112 calls. Oceanus will add 52 annual calls.

Therefore, cruise traffic will remain steady year-round. This supports consistent tourism activity.

Strong Interest in Homeporting

Several cruise lines also showed interest in homeporting. In addition, they highlighted Antigua’s strategic advantages.

These include strong port infrastructure and airlift connectivity. Moreover, its location strengthens its appeal.

Visitor Experience and Performance

Tourism officials linked growth to visitor satisfaction. The destination scored 88 out of 100.

Furthermore, friendliness and safety stood out. These factors influenced cruise decisions and repeat visits.

Major Growth Outlook

Projections suggest over one million cruise passengers. In addition, more than 400 annual calls are expected.

Therefore, the country continues a value-driven growth strategy. This includes culture, beaches, and sustainable tourism.

Industry Conference Impact

Seatrade Cruise Global attracted over 11,500 attendees. It also hosted 650 exhibitors.

Moreover, the event highlighted new industry trends. These include sustainability, AI, and experiential travel.
