Prime Minister Gaston Browne has appointed 10 new senators.

Among them is 22-year-old Youth Ambassador Shaquan O’Neil. As a result, he becomes the youngest senator appointed to the Upper House in Antigua and Barbuda’s history.

Among the new senators is Kendra Beazer. She unsuccessfully contested the Barbuda seat for the ABLP in the April 30 general election.

In addition, Angelica O’Donoghue, Abena St. Luce, and Joel Rayne are also new senators.

Alincia Williams-Grant will be appointed Senate President.

Also included among the senators are Lamin Newton, who unsuccessfully contested the All Saints East & St. Luke seat for the ABLP.

In addition, Colin O’Neil Browne, Phillip Shoul, and Shenella Govia have been reappointed. They all served in the previous term.

The appointments bring together new senators and returning members in the Upper House.
