POLICE SEIZE 30 POUNDS OF CANNABIS AND CASH DURING STOP-AND-SEARCH

St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, Monday, September 14, 2026

The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda continues its ongoing crime-fighting efforts with the seizure of 30 pounds of cannabis and more than EC$10,000 in cash during a police operation at Creekside on Monday.

At approximately 7:45 a.m. on September 14, officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department Task Force (CIDTF) were conducting a Stop-and-Search exercise in the Creekside area when they intercepted a white Toyota Ractis motor car occupied by three men.

During a search of the vehicle, police discovered a quantity of plant material resembling cannabis, along with sums of Eastern Caribbean and United States currencies.

The occupants of the vehicle were arrested on suspicion of Unlawful Possession of Cannabis and taken into police custody for further questioning.
The drugs, cash, and vehicle were seized as part of an ongoing investigation.
