St. John’s Opens Carnival Vending Applications for 2026
St. John’s Development Corporation has announced the start of Carnival vending applications for the 2026 carnival season. Moreover, officials are encouraging vendors to apply early as preparations begin for one of Antigua and Barbuda’s biggest annual events.
According to the corporation, Carnival Vending 2026 will officially run from July 11 to August 8, 2026. Therefore, interested vendors can now collect application forms at designated locations in St. John’s.
Applications are available at the SJDC Head Office at Vendors Mall on Thames Street. In addition, forms are also available at the Craft Market inside the Public Market Complex.
The corporation said vendors can collect applications between 8:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday. Furthermore, officials noted that vending fees for different categories of goods are clearly listed on the application forms.
SJDC also reminded vendors that strict rules will apply throughout the carnival season. As a result, the corporation plans to closely monitor vending activities to ensure proper order and compliance.
“The Corporation advises all vendors that strict compliance with the rules and regulations governing the Carnival vending is required,” the statement said.
In addition, SJDC warned that it will actively enforce all vending regulations during the season. Officials said these measures will help create a safer, smoother, and more successful carnival experience for vendors and patrons alike.
Carnival vending remains an important part of Antigua and Barbuda’s annual festivities. Every year, vendors sell food, drinks, crafts, clothing, and other items during major carnival events and activities.
Consequently, many small business owners depend on the season for increased income and business exposure. The vending period also attracts local shoppers, tourists, and returning nationals during the busy carnival celebrations.
Meanwhile, the corporation encouraged vendors to seek additional information if needed before submitting their applications. Interested persons can contact the St. John’s Development Corporation directly at 481-7501 for further details.
As carnival preparations continue, SJDC said it remains focused on maintaining an organized and successful vending environment throughout the 2026 season.
