British Airways is expanding its service to Barbados with its largest-ever increase in flights to the island, adding a new year-round route from London Gatwick and increasing service from Heathrow.

The expanded schedule will provide as many as three British Airways flights from London to Barbados each day during the peak winter period. The airline’s new daily Gatwick service to Grantley Adams International Airport begins on October 25.

The Gatwick service will operate alongside the airline’s existing Heathrow flights. Heathrow service will remain daily through November before increasing to twice daily from December through March 2027.

The increased service is expected to result in a 70 percent increase in British Airways seats to Barbados during the 2026-2027 winter season, according to Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. Summer capacity is also expected to more than double in 2027.

Overall, the expanded schedule could provide more than 120,000 additional seats to Barbados each year.

The Gatwick route will continue beyond the winter season, making it a year-round service. During summer 2027, British Airways will operate two daily flights to Barbados, marking the first time the airline will offer that level of summer service from London.

The new Gatwick flight will operate as a shared service with Guyana, Tobago or Grenada on six days of the week, while Wednesdays will be dedicated to Barbados service.

The expanded schedule will provide more options for travellers from the United Kingdom and additional connecting opportunities through London for travellers from other regions.

Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. Chief Executive Officer Andrea Franklin said keeping the island accessible to UK visitors remains a priority.

British Airways has served Barbados for more than 72 years. The latest expansion will give the island increased connectivity from both Gatwick and Heathrow throughout the year.
