PM Calls for Tougher Sentences on Gun Crimes

Prime Minister Gaston Browne is calling for tougher sentences for gun-related offences and repeat offenders as part of efforts to combat crime and improve public safety in Antigua and Barbuda.

Speaking on the issue, Browne argued that stronger penalties are needed to deter criminal activity and address the growing concern surrounding illegal firearms and violent offences. He emphasized that repeat offenders should face harsher consequences for continued criminal behavior.

The Prime Minister said public safety remains a priority and stressed the importance of ensuring that the justice system effectively responds to serious crimes.

His comments come amid ongoing national discussions about crime prevention, law enforcement, and measures aimed at reducing gun violence across the country.
