Health Minister Reviews Hospital Needs and Services
Health Minister Michael Joseph met with senior officials at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre to review healthcare operations and discuss improvements.
The meeting formed part of the minister’s ongoing assessment of the healthcare system in Antigua and Barbuda.
Several senior hospital officials attended the discussions earlier today. These included the Permanent Secretary, Medical Director, and Director of Administration.
Additionally, the Director of Operations, Financial Controller, and Human Resources Manager attended the meeting. The Head of Nursing and other senior personnel also participated.
During the discussions, officials reviewed the hospital’s current challenges and future needs. They also examined ways to improve efficiency and patient care.
Minister Joseph said the meeting supports wider healthcare planning efforts. According to him, the ministry continues working toward stronger healthcare delivery across the country.
Furthermore, discussions focused on both immediate and long-term concerns affecting hospital operations.
Officials also explored opportunities to improve internal systems and strengthen service delivery. At the same time, they reviewed strategies to improve the quality and speed of patient care.
The meeting remained solution-oriented throughout the discussions. Participants highlighted areas requiring urgent attention while also considering future improvements.
