OCS, Pares and SNRA Shine in Schools Cricket Wins

OCS

OCS, Pares Secondary School, and Sir Novelle Richards Academy earned wins on Monday. The Ministry of Sports Inter-School Under-15 Cricket competition resumed with exciting action.

First, Ottos Comprehensive School had the simplest path. Their match against Irene B. Williams Secondary ended in a forfeit. Therefore, OCS claimed victory without taking the field.

Meanwhile, the other matches were closely contested. Pares Secondary faced All Saints Secondary in a low-scoring battle. At Factory, PSS batted first and struggled. They posted 62 for nine from 17 overs.

Notably, extras led the scoring with 18 runs. K. Padmore added eight runs as the top batter. On the other hand, Z. Martin bowled brilliantly. He took five wickets for just four runs. In support, Nasri Brookes and T. Browne claimed two wickets each.

However, All Saints Secondary could not chase the target. They were bowled out for 55. Brookes fought hard and scored 24 runs. Still, he lacked support from teammates.

In response, PSS bowlers stayed disciplined. Javaughn Freeland led the attack with three wickets for six runs. Additionally, I. John and V. Jarvis took two wickets each. As a result, PSS secured an eight-run victory.

In the next match, Sir Novelle Richards Academy met Jennings Secondary School. SNRA batted first and posted 95 for eight in 20 overs. Sherwin Martin top-scored with 24 runs.

Again, extras played a big role. They added 25 runs to the total. Meanwhile, Estan Hill impressed with the ball. He took three wickets for five runs. Tyler Martin also grabbed three wickets.

However, Jennings struggled in their chase. They lost wickets regularly. Jariek Francis stood firm and scored 45 from 52 balls. Despite his effort, no other batter reached double figures.

Eventually, Jennings were dismissed for 86. SNRA bowlers remained consistent throughout. Kevon Charles, Martin, and Ayden Bazil each took two wickets. Consequently, SNRA won by nine runs.

Finally, officials postponed all matches scheduled for Wednesday, April 29.
