Daniel Urges Workers to Save, Learn and Plan Ahead

Daniel

Daniel urged workers to manage money wisely and prepare for future challenges. He spoke at a Labour Day rally in Antigua and Barbuda. Moreover, he called for discipline, saving, and continuous learning.

Alrick Daniel, General Secretary of the Antigua and Barbuda Trades and Labour Union, delivered the message. The event was held with the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party. There, he addressed workers, union members, and supporters.

First, Daniel warned against wasteful spending. He said workers must leave poor habits behind. Instead, they should focus on financial stability. In addition, he encouraged careful planning for the future.

“The days of squandering money must end,” Daniel said. “Plan ahead and secure your future.”

Furthermore, he stressed the importance of saving. He noted that hardship can arise at any time. Therefore, he urged workers to build financial cushions. This, he said, will help families face difficult periods.

“Save so you can meet hardship,” he added. “At some point, it will come.”

Next, Daniel highlighted the value of education. He said learning should never stop. Even so, he reminded workers that age should not limit growth. Instead, he encouraged them to seek new skills.

He pointed to opportunities at the University of the West Indies Five Islands Campus. He also mentioned training programmes across the country. Moreover, he urged workers to take advantage of these options.

“Learning is lifelong,” Daniel said. “Do not let age hold you back.”

At the same time, he asked workers to rethink their view of employment. He said a job is more than a paycheck. Rather, it supports families and improves living standards.

“It is a means to survive and grow,” he explained.

In addition, Daniel called for professionalism and productivity. He urged workers to improve their performance. As a result, they can become more competitive in a changing world.

Finally, his message tied into the union’s broader goals. The rally marked its 75th anniversary. Therefore, the focus remained on long-term success and stability.

Overall, Daniel’s message was clear. Workers must save, learn, and plan for the future.
