Cabinet Approves More Equipment for Road Repairs
Cabinet has approved additional equipment and technical experts to expand road repair work across Antigua and Barbuda. Meanwhile, officials say the move will improve road rehabilitation efforts nationwide.
The Cabinet received an update from the Ministry of Works on Wednesday. The briefing focused on the country’s ongoing road and infrastructure programme.
Officials discussed progress on the All Saints Road project. In addition, they provided updates on roadworks in communities across Antigua and Barbuda.
The delegation included the Minister of State within the Ministry of Works. The Permanent Secretary, Director of Works, and Deputy Director also attended.
Meanwhile, ministry officials told the Cabinet that roadworks will continue at the current pace. They also said crews will place greater focus on rural communities.
According to the Ministry, rehabilitation efforts will continue expanding across the country. As a result, officials hope to improve road safety and reliability.
During the meeting, the Cabinet approved two additional pieces of specialized equipment. The machinery will support work in smaller and narrower road networks.
