Antigua and Barbuda has launched its first Artificial Intelligence (AI) Readiness Assessment Report, marking a significant step in the country’s efforts to prepare for the growing impact of AI technologies.

The report, developed with support from UNESCO, evaluates the country’s readiness to adopt and govern AI while identifying opportunities for innovation, economic growth, and public sector development.

The assessment examines areas such as digital infrastructure, policy frameworks, education, skills development, and ethical considerations. It also provides recommendations aimed at helping Antigua and Barbuda harness the benefits of AI while addressing potential risks and challenges.

Officials say the report will serve as a roadmap for future AI initiatives, helping to guide national decision-making and ensure that the country is well-positioned to take advantage of emerging technologies in a responsible and inclusive manner.
