A long-running trade dispute between Antigua and Barbuda and the United States remains unresolved, with the US continuing to reject compensation claims stemming from a World Trade Organization (WTO) ruling over online gambling services.

The case dates back more than two decades, when Antigua and Barbuda successfully challenged US restrictions on cross-border online gaming. The WTO ruled in Antigua’s favor and later authorized the country to seek up to US$21 million annually in trade-related compensation after the US failed to comply with the decision.

Despite the ruling, no settlement has been reached. Antigua and Barbuda has continued to pursue compensation through negotiations, arguing that the restrictions severely damaged its once-thriving online gaming industry. The dispute remains one of the longest-running unresolved trade cases in WTO history.
