ABLP Thanksgiving Service Calls for Unity After Win
ABLP supporters, ministers, and church leaders gathered on Sunday for a national thanksgiving service after the party’s election victory. The service took place at St. John’s Pentecostal Church House of Restoration. Moreover, organizers described the event as both spiritual and national in focus.
Cabinet ministers, senators-designate, diplomats, and supporters attended the gathering. In addition, church leaders joined in prayers for the country and its future. Speakers repeatedly called for unity, peace, and national progress.
The service opened with the national anthem. Afterwards, clergy members prayed for political leaders, schools, churches, families, and the judiciary. One prayer asked for “wisdom in confusion” and “peace in chaos.”
Meanwhile, organizers stressed that the gathering was not only about politics. Instead, they said the country needed guidance, wisdom, and unity after the election season.
Religious leaders also spoke about Friday’s earthquake. They encouraged residents to give thanks for safety and protection. Furthermore, several worshippers described the moment as emotional and reflective.
Praise and worship filled much of the service. Congregants sang hymns focused on restoration, grace, and perseverance. At the same time, worship leaders encouraged people to remain hopeful and thankful.
Church officials later introduced government ministers and senators-designate. However, organizers corrected several ministry portfolios during the ceremony.
Apostle Dr. Stephen C. Andrews delivered the main sermon. He focused on thanksgiving, faith, and national renewal. Additionally, he encouraged leaders and citizens to remain committed to service and humility.
Scripture readings came from Psalm 103, Psalm 107, and 1 Chronicles 16. Therefore, themes of gratitude, protection, and covenant remained central throughout the service.
The congregation also watched congratulatory video messages from overseas religious leaders. Bishop Israel Ade Ajala of Colorado praised the government’s election victory. He also said international faith leaders would continue praying for Antigua and Barbuda.
Finally, church leaders closed the service with prayers for national development and peace. They urged citizens to work together and support the country’s future growth.
