Dickon Mitchell Wins Second Term in Grenada

Preliminary results show the NDC capturing 14 of the country’s 15 parliamentary seats, increasing its majority from the nine seats it won in 2022. The opposition New National Party (NNP), led by Emmalin Pierre, secured the remaining seat in St. George North West.

The NDC received 37,369 votes, representing approximately 61 per cent of valid ballots. The NNP collected 22,567 votes, or 36.84 per cent. Voter turnout was reported at 63.3 per cent.

The result marks the first time the NDC has won consecutive general elections since the party was founded in 1987. Mitchell’s renewed term will allow his administration to continue its focus on economic development, infrastructure, healthcare, education and employment.

The figures remain subject to final verification and certification by election officials.
