Nicaragua Defeats Antigua and Barbuda in Women’s Soccer Qualifiers
Nicaragua started strong in the 2025/26 Concacaf Women’s Qualifiers with a 4-0 win over Antigua and Barbuda. The match took place at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua and Barbuda. Nicaragua scored early and kept the pressure on throughout the game.
Nathaly Silva opened the scoring in the 10th minute with a right-footed shot after an assist from Sheyla Flores. Flores then scored herself in the 19th minute, with Silva assisting. Nicaragua continued to widen the lead when Doriana Aguilar scored in the 31st minute, assisted once again by Flores. The final goal came late in the match when Hannah Lee scored in the 85th minute, with Ines Navarrete providing the assist.
Nicaragua’s win sets a strong tone for their campaign, as they prepare to face Guyana next. Antigua and Barbuda, meanwhile, will regroup and resume play during the March international window.
