Antigua and Barbuda to Boost Water Operations with Smart Meters

Antigua and Barbuda

Antigua and Barbuda is taking a big step to improve its water supply with the introduction of smart meters. The government plans to install a thousand of these advanced devices first. Smart meters help stop tampering and make sure water use is measured accurately for residents.

Maurice Merchant, the Cabinet Spokesperson, said these new meters will support the country’s move toward modern and digital systems. Along with smart meters, a faults management system will be added to help detect and fix problems quickly. These changes aim to provide better water service across the island.

This project shows the government’s commitment to making water operations more efficient and reliable. Residents can expect clearer billing and fewer disruptions as the system improves. The smart meters mark an important upgrade for the island’s infrastructure.
