PM to Help Cover Plastic Surgery Costs for Pit Bull Attack Victim
PM Gaston Browne has promised to help cover the cost of plastic surgery for Shabo Nedwell, a young woman attacked by pit bull dogs just days before her university graduation. The surgery will be paid for through Medical Benefits, and the Prime Minister said he will facilitate the arrangements.
Nedwell was seriously injured by four pit bulls that escaped and attacked her, causing multiple wounds and severe damage to her lip. Despite her injuries, she showed great courage by attending her graduation in a wheelchair. Medical experts say she may need reconstructive surgery to fully heal.
The Prime Minister expressed concern for her and wants to ensure she gets the best care abroad if needed. This incident has also sparked calls for stricter pet ownership laws and better dog control to prevent future attacks.
The nation continues to support Nedwell as she recovers and raises awareness about responsible pet ownership.
