Cybersecurity officials from across the Eastern Caribbean are meeting in Antigua and Barbuda. The two-day workshop focuses on stronger regional cooperation.

The event carries the theme “Cyber Governance Collaboration in the Eastern Caribbean.” It brings together a wide range of experts. These include policymakers, legal professionals, diplomats, and technical specialists.

Moreover, the Government of Antigua and Barbuda is hosting the workshop. It is working in partnership with the Organization of American States. In addition, the United Kingdom is providing support.

During the sessions, participants are exploring key strategies. They aim to improve coordination and communication. At the same time, they want stronger preparedness across the region.

Importantly, the discussions focus on Small Island Developing States. These states face increasing cyber risks. Therefore, regional unity is seen as essential.

Meanwhile, speakers stressed the urgency of the issue. Gordina Hector-Murrell delivered opening remarks. She serves as Director of Cyber Security in the Ministry of ICTs, Utilities and Energy.

Furthermore, she highlighted the need for teamwork. She said detection, response, and recovery must happen together. As a result, resilience depends on joint action.
