Veteran Antiguan journalist Melvin Claxton is among 13 distinguished individuals selected to receive honorary degrees from The University of the West Indies (UWI).

Claxton is being recognized for his longstanding contributions to journalism and media in Antigua and Barbuda and across the Caribbean. His career has spanned decades, earning him respect as a writer, editor, and commentator.

The honorary degree acknowledges his impact on public discourse, storytelling, and the development of regional journalism.

The awards will be presented as part of UWI’s annual graduation ceremonies, celebrating individuals who have made significant contributions to their fields and to Caribbean society.
