Woman accused of firing shots at the home of Rihanna now faces several serious charges in California.

Authorities say the incident happened Sunday at the singer’s residence in Beverly Hills.

Police charged 35-year-old Ivanna Lisette Ortiz in connection with the shooting. Prosecutors filed a total of 14 felony counts.

First, Ortiz faces one count of attempted murder. In addition, she faces 10 counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm.

Prosecutors also charged her with three counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling.

Fortunately, no one suffered injuries during the incident. However, several people were inside the property at the time.

Officials say Rihanna was home during the shooting. Her partner A$AP Rocky was also at the residence.

Additionally, their three children were inside the home. Rihanna’s mother was present as well.

Despite the gunfire, everyone remained safe.

According to Nathan Hochman, the district attorney in Los Angeles, authorities are treating the case seriously.

Investigators continue working to understand the motive behind the shooting. So far, officials have not confirmed why the suspect targeted the home.

Meanwhile, public records provide some background on the accused woman.

Records show Ortiz most recently lived in Orlando, Florida. She has worked as a licensed speech pathologist for more than ten years.

However, investigators have not explained any connection between Ortiz and the celebrity family.

Following the arrest, a court scheduled an arraignment hearing. However, the hearing did not take place as planned.

Instead, the court postponed the arraignment until March 25.

In the meantime, a judge ordered Ortiz to remain in custody.

Authorities set her bail at $1.8 million. Therefore, she will stay in jail unless she posts that amount.

Prosecutors also warned about the seriousness of the charges.

If a court convicts Ortiz on all counts, she could face life in prison.
