LIAT Air, Air Caraïbes sign interline agreement
LIAT (2020) Limited, operating as LIAT Air, and Air Caraïbes have introduced a new interline agreement aimed at improving air travel connectivity across the Caribbean and into Europe.
The agreement allows passengers to book a single ticket covering flights operated by both airlines. Travelers will also benefit from through-checked baggage to their final destination, removing the need to re-check luggage or purchase separate tickets when transferring between carriers.
The combined network connects LIAT Air’s regional Caribbean routes—including Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Guyana, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, Trinidad and Tobago, and other Eastern Caribbean destinations—with Air Caraïbes’ services across the French Caribbean and French Guiana. It also provides onward connections to Paris-Orly through Air Caraïbes’ long-haul operations.
LIAT Air CEO Hafsah Abdulsalam said the partnership improves regional mobility and strengthens links between English, French, and Dutch-speaking Caribbean territories, while expanding access to Europe through a simplified travel system.
Air Caraïbes Commercial Director Hugues Heddebault stated that the agreement is designed to simplify travel and support stronger regional integration, while also enhancing access to Paris and European destinations via hubs in Pointe-à-Pitre and Fort-de-France.
Both airlines say the partnership is expected to support tourism, business travel, and economic activity, while also improving travel options for Caribbean diaspora communities.
