The prosecution has indicated it will appeal the sentence imposed on Antiguan entertainer Harrison Horsford, popularly known as Jesse Fyah, after he was ordered to pay a total of $8,000 following his conviction for indecent assault and serious indecency.

Justice Ann Marie Smith ordered Horsford to pay $5,000 in compensation to the complainant and a $3,000 fine to the court. The entertainer had remained in custody since being found guilty by a jury in May. Prosecutors have since signaled their intention to challenge the sentence, arguing that it is too lenient given the nature of the offences.

The convictions stem from a 2020 incident involving a woman who accused Horsford of making unwanted sexual advances and assaulting her after offering her a ride. A jury rejected his account of events and returned guilty verdicts on both charges after less than an hour of deliberation
