Sean “Diddy” Combs will leave prison earlier than planned. The embattled rapper secured a new release date. As a result, he will exit about six weeks sooner.

According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, his date moved. Previously, he was set for June 4, 2028. Now, he is scheduled for April 25, 2028.

Notably, Page Six reported the reason for the change. In November, Combs entered a drug abuse rehabilitation program. This program can shorten prison time. Therefore, his participation likely reduced his sentence.

At the time, his representative praised his efforts. The statement said he joined the Residential Drug Abuse Program. Moreover, it said he took rehabilitation seriously from the start. He remains focused on growth and positive change.

However, this is not the first shift in his release date. Earlier, officials pushed his date back. In November 2025, it moved from May 8, 2028, to June 4, 2028. That change followed alleged prison rule violations.

Currently, Combs serves his sentence at Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institute in New Jersey. Meanwhile, he continues to fight his conviction. In December, he filed an appeal. He seeks immediate release, a reversal, or a reduced sentence.

In court filings, Combs challenges the prosecution’s case. He argues that prosecutors failed to prove their claims. Additionally, his attorney says the judge imposed an overly harsh sentence. The defense claims the ruling violated his constitutional rights.

On the other hand, prosecutors oppose the appeal. In February, they formally pushed back against his request.
