Antigua’s historic Recreation Grounds has welcomed the return of Premier League football, bringing the country’s top-flight competition back to one of its most recognised sporting venues.

The reopening for league action took place on Sunday, October 11, after the scheduled Saturday fixtures were pushed back by a day.

Pigotts Bullets SC were set to face Garden Stars FC in the opening match at 5 p.m., followed by a 7 p.m. contest between Grenades FC and Freemans Village FC. Results were not available in the original report.

More matches are scheduled for Monday, with All Saints United meeting Greenbay Hoppers at 6 p.m. before Old Road FC take on Potters Tigers at 8 p.m.

The return marks a significant moment for local football, as the Antigua Recreation Grounds resumes its role as a venue for the island’s top-level domestic competition.
