Burning Flames Unavailable for Melting Pot Due to Overseas Booking

The Original Burning Flames will not perform at this year’s Melting Pot event. The band already has an overseas booking on the same date. Band member Sir Iyan Man Oungku shared the update in a social media post on Thursday. He responded to public questions about the group’s absence from the lineup.

Oungku said Melting Pot organizers tried to book the band. They first contacted the group to secure a performance. They later checked again to see if the band had become available. The schedule did not change, so the band could not accept the offer. The group stayed committed to its overseas engagement.

Oungku said the organizers made real efforts to include the band. “The organizers of Melting Pot did try and also double checked to see if by any chance we became available, but we were already booked solid for that date,” he wrote. His statement helped clear confusion among fans. Many supporters had expected the band to appear at the event.

He also thanked fans for their understanding. He said the decision came down to scheduling, not preference. The post showed strong interest in the band’s participation. The Original Burning Flames remains one of Antigua and Barbuda’s most popular music groups. Their shows continue to draw strong crowds across the region.

Oungku also mentioned another event. He referred to a “Face-off” show set for July 24. The event will feature Antigua and Barbuda against Dominica. He did not share more details about the performance.

The band continues to play a major role in regional music. Fans will still have chances to see them during the carnival season. Their absence from Melting Pot is due only to timing, not availability in general.s.
