Canadian national Roselynee Crisostomo has had all cannabis charges withdrawn on medical grounds.

Authorities arrested the 48-year-old at V.C. Bird International Airport on March 10. She arrived on an Air Canada flight from Toronto.

Police alleged they found 67 pounds of cannabis inside two suitcases. In addition, officers reportedly discovered 61 vacuum-sealed packages during a joint airport operation.

Authorities then charged Crisostomo with drug trafficking, importation, possession and intent to supply.

However, the court later heard that the Director of Public Prosecutions ordered prosecutors to discontinue the case. Officials cited medical reasons for the decision.

No further medical details were revealed in court.

Earlier, Crisostomo reportedly indicated she was willing to plead guilty. Because of the large drug quantity, the matter had been scheduled for fast-tracked committal proceedings.

Police estimated the cannabis carried a street value of EC$536,000.

As a result, all charges against the Canadian woman have now been dropped
