Former police inspector Trevor Young has recovered his stolen vehicle after police found it abandoned in Scotts Hill. However, the car’s licence plates were missing.

The Toyota Allion disappeared during a daylight theft on Tuesday. According to reports, the incident happened at the corner of Herberts and All Saints Roads.

Young had reportedly stepped out briefly to make a purchase. Meanwhile, the engine remained running.

Shortly after, surveillance cameras captured a man entering the vehicle. The suspect then drove away quickly from the area.

Video footage also showed Young shouting as he tried to stop the thief. However, the suspect sped off before anyone could intervene.

Later, authorities located the abandoned vehicle in Scotts Hill. Investigators discovered that someone had removed the licence plates before leaving the car behind.

Although the vehicle was recovered, officials have not released details about possible arrests.

Young later reflected on the incident following the recovery of the car. He explained that he usually takes security seriously.

In fact, he described the theft as the only time he had lowered his guard.
