Louis Armstrong Killed in Early Morning Fort Road Shooting

Louis Armstrong, 43, died Saturday morning after being shot on Upper Fort Road. He passed at 7:24 a.m. while receiving treatment at Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre.

Earlier, police responded to reports of a shooting near Toy Toy Restaurant. Officers found Armstrong lying on the ground with gunshot wounds to his chest, eye, and left hand. Emergency services rushed him to the hospital, but he did not survive.

The police have launched a full homicide investigation. They are appealing to the public for any information. Anyone who witnessed the incident or knows the suspects is asked to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913. Authorities emphasized that community assistance is crucial to bringing those responsible to justice. Meanwhile, forensic teams are combing the scene for evidence. Investigators are reviewing nearby CCTV footage and interviewing witnesses.

Neighbors described the shooting as shocking. “We heard gunshots and immediately ran outside,” said a resident who asked not to be named. “It’s scary that this could happen on our street.”

Police confirmed that they are pursuing multiple leads. They also warned residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity. Local law enforcement has increased patrols in the area to prevent further incidents.
