Director of Nursing at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, Jacqueline Jnobaptiste, has praised nurses across Antigua and Barbuda during Nurses Week 2026.

This year’s observance carries the theme, “Our Nurses, Our Future: Empowered Nurses Save Lives.”

In her message to nursing staff, Jnobaptiste thanked nurses for their dedication and compassion. She also praised their strong commitment to patient care across the country.

Furthermore, she described nurses as the “backbone of healthcare.”

“Every day, you make a difference through your professionalism, resilience, and caring spirit,” Jnobaptiste said.

She added that nurses continue strengthening the healthcare system through their daily service. According to her, nurses also bring comfort, healing, and hope to patients and families.
