Ministry of Education, Sports, and Creative Industries has announced the winners. The announcement covers the Christmas Home and Business Lighting Competition 2025. The annual competition highlights festive lighting displays. It focuses on creativity and holiday spirit.

Ministry officials confirmed the competition included two main categories. These were the Home category and the Business category. The Home category was divided into four zones. These zones were East, West, North, and South. Meanwhile, the Business category covered the entire island.

Throughout the season, participants displayed decorative lighting. As a result, homes and businesses added colour to the holidays. The competition showcased innovative designs. It also reflected strong community participation.

Winners in both categories will receive cash prizes. The Ministry outlined the prize structure as follows:

• First Place: $3,000.00 ECD
• Second Place: $2,000.00 ECD
• Third Place: $1,000.00 ECD

In addition, Home category winners will receive extra benefits. They will get a 100 percent waiver. This waiver applies to their December 2024 electricity bill. Meanwhile, Business category winners will receive a 50 percent waiver.

The Ministry congratulated all winners. It also thanked every participant. According to officials, the competition continues to grow each year.

• 1st Runner-Up: GALLEY BAY RESORT
• 2nd Runner-Up: FALMOUTH HARBOUR MARINA

WEST ZONE

• Winner: JOEL RAYNE
• 1st Runner-Up: ALIX-XENNE JOHN “PURPLE”
• 2nd Runner-Up: NUFFIELD BURNETTE

EAST ZONE

• Winner: DESIREE SIMON
• 1st Runner-Up: CHATURA PHILLIP
• 2nd Runner-Up: MARILYN JONES MARSH

SOUTH ZONE

• Winner: VERNEL WESTE
• 1st Runner-Up: RONALDO JOSEPH
• 2nd Runner-Up: TERRENCE GEORGE

NORTH ZONE

• Winner: DAVE PETERS
• 1st Runner-Up: SARA SHOUL
• 2nd Runner-Up: PAUL AFLAK

TOP SCORES

• VERNEL WESTE – 100
• DESIREE SIMON – 99.7
• JOEL RAYNE – 95
• DAVE PETERS – 94

Finally, the Ministry again congratulated this year’s winners. It also expressed appreciation to all participants. The Ministry looks forward to continued growth. The competition remains a major highlight of the Christmas season.
