Travellers Face Long Delays at V.C. Bird Airport After Baggage Carousel Breakdown

Travellers

Travellers at V.C. Bird International Airport faced long delays on Monday. The main departure-area baggage carousel malfunctioned, causing a backlog at check-in.

As a result, passengers waited longer than usual to drop off their checked luggage. Ground staff had to carry bags manually while the carousel was out of service. Consequently, long lines formed at the check-in area.

Passengers reported frustration at the extended wait times. Meanwhile, airport staff continued assisting travellers and managing the luggage.

The Antigua and Barbuda Airport Authority said technicians were on site. They were working to repair the faulty equipment.

No further details were provided, but staff remained on hand to help passengers during the breakdown.
