ABLP Candidate Says Water Supply Improving in St. Paul

ABLP

ABLP candidate Chet Greene says water supply in St. Paul has improved. He credits new pump installations for recent progress.

First, Greene spoke during a “Know Your Candidate” interview. He said work by the Antigua Public Utilities Authority has helped.

Moreover, he said new pumping systems now operate in parts of the constituency. These upgrades target long-standing water issues.

In particular, Greene pointed to higher elevation areas. These areas faced the most supply challenges.

He explained that a new pump in Tyrell’s now operates. This pump sends water into higher parts of Liberta.

As a result, residents now see better water flow. Greene said water moves more freely into homes.

In addition, he said improvements are already visible. He noted better supply as of recent days.

However, he said more work remains in progress. He described the situation as ongoing development.

Furthermore, Greene said more upgrades are planned. These include expansion work at the Pigeon Point reverse osmosis plant.

This expansion aims to meet rising demand. It will serve both residents and the yachting sector.

He also referenced comments from government officials. They plan to expand the plant for greater capacity.

So, the goal is to handle larger and more frequent yacht arrivals. This adds pressure to water supply systems.

In addition, Greene said another pump will be installed in Falmouth. This will support higher areas in that community.

He said the system will move water to Falmouth and Piccadilly. These areas will benefit from improved pressure.

Meanwhile, Greene acknowledged ongoing concerns from residents. He said water shortages have caused frustration.

However, he noted that improvements are now visible. He described progress as gradual but real.

Therefore, he said the issue remains a work in progress. Still, he welcomed current upgrades.

Finally, Greene said the situation is improving overall. He pointed to better flow and expanding infrastructure.

In conclusion, he said ongoing upgrades aim to strengthen water supply. He emphasized continued improvements across St. Paul.
