Antigua And Barbuda Festivals Commission Teams Up With Music Producer Kitwana Israel

Antigua

Antigua and Barbuda Festivals Commission (ABFC) is taking major steps to grow the nation’s music industry. Furthermore, it is collaborating with Kitwana Israel of AdvoKit Productions.

Israel brings over a decade of professional experience. Moreover, he has worked across the Caribbean, the United States, and Africa. His work reaches both local and international audiences.

For example, he produced Ola by Olatunji Yearwood, Hello by Kes, and Buss Head by Machel Montano and Bunji Garlin. He also produced Tender and Anxiety by Patrice Roberts, DAP by Viking Ding Dong, and Come Home by Nailah Blackman and Skinny Fabulous. Recently, he produced Doux Darlin by Christo, further shaping Caribbean music.

Israel said, “I am on the island collaborating with Chippy to produce a rhythm for Antigua Carnival. In addition, working with local artistes like Tian and DJ Quest has been incredible. As a result, we are creating music that resonates in Antigua, the Caribbean, and internationally.”

ABFC Chairperson Ambassador Elizabeth Makhoul said the Commission will continue supporting the creative sector. She added that collaborations like this give local producers and artistes access to internationally respected professionals.

Moreover, these partnerships allow talent to gain insight, improve skills, and innovate. As a result, Antiguan and Barbudan music can compete on a global stage.

Minister Daryll S. Matthew also emphasized the importance of such collaborations. He noted last year’s Music Producers’ Masterclass with Kasey Phillips helped empower local talent and strengthen the industry.

Furthermore, real-time collaboration gives creatives the tools and exposure they need to succeed beyond the islands.

ABFC remains committed to providing training, knowledge, and international expertise to local musicians. In addition, Israel’s collaboration reflects a larger plan to build capacity in Antigua and Barbuda’s music sector.

Overall, the project ensures local talent continues to grow, innovate, and create music that celebrates the culture, spirit, and identity of Antigua and Barbuda.
