Full Slate Set as ABLP Finalizes 17 Candidates
Full slate of 17 candidates has been finalized by the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party. The announcement comes as general elections draw closer.
Firstly, the party confirmed its lineup ahead of a key convention. This convention is set for April 12. As a result, the list now awaits formal ratification.
Meanwhile, the candidates were endorsed by the party’s executive. Therefore, the slate reflects both experience and new representation.
Notably, several incumbents will return to the political stage. At the same time, new candidates will contest seats across constituencies.
Prime Minister Gaston Browne will seek re-election in St John’s City West. Similarly, other senior ministers are also returning.
These include Sir Steadroy Benjamin in St John’s City South. In addition, E.P. Chet Greene will contest St Paul. Charles Max Fernandez will run in St John’s Rural North.
Furthermore, Melford Nicholas will seek another term in St John’s City East. As a result, key leadership figures remain central to the slate.
Other candidates include Daryll Matthew in St John’s Rural South. Maria Browne will contest St John’s Rural East. Meanwhile, Rawdon Turner will run in St Peter.
In addition, Anthony Smith Jr. will represent All Saints West. Randy Baltimore will contest St Philip North. Michael Joseph will run in St John’s Rural West.
Moreover, Michael Freeland will stand in St George. Kiz Johnson will contest St Philip South. Lamin Newton will run in All Saints East and St Luke.
Also included is Dwayne George in St Mary’s South. Dr. Philmore Benjamin will contest St Mary’s North. Kendra Chamberlain Beazer will represent Barbuda.
