PM

PM Browne has signaled a possible Cabinet reshuffle after swearing in all 15 ABLP MPs.

First, all 15 successful candidates of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party were sworn in as ministers or junior ministers.

Next, the ceremony took place at the American University of Antigua. It followed the party’s strong election win.

In addition, the party secured 15 of 17 parliamentary seats. This result gave the government a clear mandate.

PM Browne said his team begins a fourth consecutive term. He also stressed continuity in governance.

Moreover, he confirmed that ministers will keep their current portfolios for now. However, he said changes may come later.

PM Browne explained that a reshuffle could happen as early as January 2027. He said performance and national needs will guide decisions.

At the same time, he highlighted key national projects already underway. Several ministers will continue leading these efforts.

For example, E. P. Chet Greene will continue work on foreign affairs. He is also preparing for the 2026 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.

In addition, Education Minister Daryll Matthew will expand the UWI Five Islands Campus. This remains a major education priority.

Meanwhile, ICT and Energy Minister Melford Nicholas will focus on utility challenges. Water supply remains a key issue.

Also, Housing and Works Minister Maria Browne continues the national road and infrastructure program.

Furthermore, Tourism Minister Charles Fernandez will lead tourism development plans. Agriculture and sports portfolios remain active under new ministers.

Additionally, Anthony Smith, Dwayne George, and Michael Joseph now hold key roles.

Earlier, Attorney General Steadroy Benjamin was sworn in.

Finally, PM Browne said stability remains important. However, he added that adjustments will come when needed.
