UWI Five Islands Marks World Quality Week 2025

UWI

The University of the West Indies (UWI) Five Islands Campus will celebrate World Quality Week from November 10 to 14, 2025. This event is part of a global effort to highlight the importance of quality in many fields, including education. This year’s theme is “Quality: Think Differently,” encouraging fresh ideas to improve how things are done on campus.

During the week, the campus will host events like a digital launch of a campaign asking, “What Does Quality Mean to You?”, a Quality Forum titled “Thinking Differently at Five Islands,” daily Quality Pop-Ups, and a Quality Circle with a commitment wall. These activities aim to strengthen quality management and encourage everyone to play a role in maintaining high standards in teaching and learning.

Campus Principal Prof. C. Justin Robinson said quality systems are key to preparing students for today’s changing world. This includes adapting to technology like AI and addressing challenges specific to Small Island Developing States such as Antigua and Barbuda. Since its founding in 2019, the campus has become a hub for world-class education, offering more than 40 degree programs and leading research on local issues like oceanography and the blue economy.
