Urgent Appeal Launched for Bolans Woman’s Cancer Care
Urgent appeals are coming from Bolans as the community rallies behind Judy Thomas-Ward.
She is 43 years old and urgently needs overseas cancer treatment.
As a result, family members and supporters have launched a public fundraising drive.
Currently, Thomas-Ward is battling cancer and requires specialized medical care abroad.
Therefore, doctors have referred her to Colombia for treatment.
This care is critical and time sensitive.
Thomas-Ward has served the Government for more than twenty years.
She works with the Ministry of Labour.
Throughout her career, she has remained committed to public service.
In addition, she is well known in national sports circles.
She is a former youth and senior national footballer.
She has also worked as a referee and softball player.
Moreover, she serves as an executive member of the Football Referees Association.
Because of this, many people across Antigua and Barbuda know her personally.
Consequently, support for her has been growing steadily.
Beyond her professional and sporting roles, Thomas-Ward is a mother of five.
Her family describes her as strong and devoted.
However, they say urgent help is now needed.
According to supporters, the total cost of treatment is high.
Medical care, travel, and accommodation are estimated at US $85,000.
Therefore, the immediate goal is to raise US $40,000.
This amount will cover essential medical expenses.
It will also support her initial four-month stay overseas.
Without this support, treatment could be delayed.
Family members say this treatment offers real hope.
They believe it can improve her health.
Most importantly, it may allow her to continue her life’s work.
Meanwhile, the community is being urged to help in any way possible.
Every contribution, large or small, can make a difference.
Now, supporters are asked to act quickly.
