Trinidadian Families Sue U.S. Government Over Deadly Boat Strike

Relatives of two Trinidadian men who were killed during a U.S. missile strike have filed a lawsuit against the United States, claiming the attack was unlawful and based on false information. The strike occurred in October 2025 in Caribbean waters and targeted a small boat that U.S. authorities said was involved in drug trafficking.

Six people were killed in the incident. The families insist the men were civilians who were returning home from work and had no connection to criminal activity. They argue that the boat was misidentified and that no proper checks were done before the strike was carried out.

The lawsuit claims the attack violated international law and the victims’ right to life. The families are seeking compensation and accountability, saying the deaths were preventable and have left lasting emotional and financial hardship.
