Tourism Ministry honours retirees at a special team-building dinner. The Ministry of Tourism and Investment hosted the event on Saturday, February 21. The evening celebrated the past, present, and future of the Ministry.

Staff gathered in a spirit of appreciation and unity. Moreover, the event paid tribute to five retirees. Each retiree gave years of dedicated service to the tourism industry.

Among those honoured was Terrance Charles. He served the Ministry for 21 years. In addition, Phillip George gave 23 years of service. Carlene Gilkes contributed seven years to the Ministry. Paula Claire Joseph served for five years. Meanwhile, Naomi Elizabeth Mason stood out as the longest-serving retiree. She dedicated 43 years to the tourism sector.

Collectively, the retirees represent nearly a century of service. Their experience strengthened the Ministry’s work. Furthermore, their commitment helped advance the country’s tourism product.

During the evening, Permanent Secretary Sean Cenac expressed sincere gratitude. He thanked the honourees for their lasting impact. He also stressed the importance of unity among current staff.

“Our retirees have played an integral role,” Cenac said. He noted their service built the foundation of the tourism industry. He added that their excellence positioned the sector for continued growth.

At the same time, he urged staff to look ahead. He said unity and collaboration remain essential. Therefore, teamwork must guide future efforts. He encouraged innovation and improved performance. He also highlighted the need to advance sustainable tourism development.

According to Cenac, collective effort will shape the Ministry’s future. He stressed that collaboration will strengthen the industry.

The dinner also reminded staff of the value of shared purpose. It highlighted the importance of teamwork. Moreover, it reinforced the Ministry’s strategic focus.

As the Ministry moves forward, it remains grounded in past achievements. At the same time, it embraces renewed commitment. Staff will continue to pursue strategic investment opportunities. They will also support initiatives to strengthen the tourism sector.

Overall, the evening honoured decades of service. It also inspired unity for the journey ahead.
