Tourism Leaders Gather in Antigua for Black Pineapple Awards
Tourism leaders from across the globe are arriving in Antigua and Barbuda for a prestigious celebration.
This year, the destination hosts the 2025 Antigua and Barbuda Black Pineapple Awards.
Notably, the event honours top-producing travel advisors driving tourism growth.
The Antigua and Barbuda Ministry of Tourism, along with the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, hosts the awards.
Together, they recognise outstanding advisors from major source markets.
Specifically, these markets include the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, Canada, the Caribbean, and Latin America.
In total, nearly seventy leading travel advisors are travelling to Antigua for the ceremony.
Meanwhile, the gala will take place at Sandals Grande Antigua Resort and Spa.
As expected, the evening will celebrate excellence, loyalty, and strong sales performance.
According to Honourable Charles Fernandez, Minister of Tourism, the awards express deep appreciation.
He explained that advisors’ recommendations directly influence visitor arrivals.

Likewise, Colin C. James, CEO of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, praised the advisors’ dedication.

Dean Fenton will represent the United States, while Cherrie Osborne represents the UK and Europe.
At the same time, Charmaine Spencer will attend for the Caribbean and Latin America.
Similarly, Tameka Wharton will represent the Canadian market.
Alongside them, Business Development Managers will join the visiting advisors.
Together, they will strengthen relationships and share strategic insights.
As a result, collaboration between markets will continue to grow.

First, the Director’s Award will honour exceptional room night sales.
Next, the CEO’s Award will recognise outstanding booking performance.

The winner will receive a handcrafted wooden trophy shaped like the twin islands.
Notably, the design features the iconic Antigua Black Pineapple.
Beyond the gala, honourees will enjoy a carefully curated itinerary.
They will stay at premier resorts across Antigua and Barbuda.
In addition, activities include land and sea tours and cultural experiences.
