Sydney Beaches Closed After Series of Shark Attacks
Several popular beaches in Sydney were closed after three shark attacks were reported within two days, prompting heightened safety concerns among authorities and beachgoers. Emergency services confirmed that two people were injured in separate incidents, while a third attack involved a surfer who managed to escape unharmed.
Local officials moved quickly to shut down affected beaches and deploy additional patrols, drones, and shark-spotting measures. Authorities said the closures were a precaution to protect swimmers as conditions were reviewed and shark activity monitored closely.
Marine experts explained that shark sightings tend to increase during warmer months, especially when schools of fish move closer to shore. They stressed that while attacks remain rare, caution is necessary during periods of increased activity.
