Surveillance footage and mobile phone evidence dominated Monday’s proceedings in the Nigel Christian murder trial. Consequently, the High Court focused on digital evidence on its eighth day.

Jurors first watched a pickup truck traveling along Marble Hill Road. Two minutes later, a silver car followed. Additionally, a second recording from a nearby business, timestamped around 5:34 p.m., showed the same sequence.

Furthermore, police introduced a photograph of a pickup truck recovered from a mobile phone. Prosecutors argued that this evidence directly links the suspects to the crime scene.

A police corporal specialising in digital forensics testified. He collected the footage days after Christian’s death on July 10, 2020. He retrieved recordings from the Chinese Embassy, a nearby business, and a residence near Christian’s home.

In addition, the corporal examined two mobile phones. He extracted a photograph and WhatsApp screenshots that support the Crown’s timeline.

Prosecutors stated that the footage aligns with a key witness’s account. The witness explained he drove the accused — Saleim Harrigan, Wayne Thomas, and Lesean Bully — to Christian’s McKinnons home. Subsequently, he followed them to Thibou’s, where Christian was shot dead.

Authorities then discovered Christian’s truck abandoned in Cassada Gardens. They also recovered clothing and other items during searches, including gloves and a LIAT ticket stub with Christian’s name.

Meanwhile, defence attorneys questioned the main witness’s credibility. They highlighted DNA evidence linking him to clothing found at the scene.

Additionally, an FBI cellular mapping expert testified. He said phone data broadly aligns with the witness’s version, further strengthening the prosecution’s timeline.

The trial will continue Tuesday before Justice Rajiv Persaud. The court will review additional evidence and hear more witness testimony.
